Air Fryer Lemon Chicken Bites (Print Version)

Zesty lemon-marinated chicken bites air-fried until golden and crispy. Ready in 30 minutes with a bright herb flavor.

# What You Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

→ Marinade

02 - 2 tbsp olive oil
03 - 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
04 - 1 tbsp lemon zest (from about 1 lemon)
05 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 1 tsp dried oregano
07 - 1 tsp paprika
08 - 1/2 tsp salt
09 - 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
11 - Lemon wedges

# Directions:

01 - Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
02 - Add chicken pieces to the marinade. Toss thoroughly to coat all surfaces. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor penetration.
03 - Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes before cooking.
04 - Place marinated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding, which prevents proper crisping.
05 - Cook for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket or turning pieces halfway through cooking. Chicken is done when golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
06 - Transfer cooked chicken bites to a serving plate. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and accompany with lemon wedges for squeezing.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The air fryer creates that perfect crispy exterior without the mess of deep frying
  • Marinating the chicken ahead of time means maximum flavor with minimal effort
02 -
  • Crowding the basket is the fastest way to soggy chicken, so resist the urge to pile it in
  • Letting the chicken marinate overnight transforms this from good to incredible
03 -
  • Pat the chicken dry before marinating if it seems wet, excess moisture prevents proper crisping
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade if you like a little heat
