Green Matcha Latte Oat (Print Version)

Vibrant green tea blend with frothy oat milk and subtle sweetness for a smooth, energizing drink.

# What You Need:

→ Matcha Mixture

01 - 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder
02 - 2 tablespoons hot water (about 80°C / 175°F), not boiling

→ Latte

03 - 1 cup oat milk
04 - 1–2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Sift the matcha powder into a mug to remove clumps and ensure smooth texture.
02 - Add the hot water to the sifted matcha. Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or small regular whisk until completely smooth and frothy.
03 - Heat the oat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. Alternatively, microwave in a microwave-safe container for 45–60 seconds.
04 - Froth the heated oat milk using a milk frother or whisk until foamy and doubled in volume.
05 - Pour the frothed oat milk into the mug with matcha, holding back the foam with a spoon. Spoon the foam on top of the latte.
06 - Stir in maple syrup or sweetener if desired. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with a light sprinkle of matcha powder on top.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The gentle caffeine lift provides steady energy without that afternoon crash coffee sometimes brings
  • Oat milk creates this naturally sweet, creamy texture that lets the matcha's grassy notes shine through
02 -
  • Water temperature absolutely matters—too hot and you'll taste the difference immediately in that harsh, bitter first sip
  • Investing in a bamboo whisk (chasen) changed my matcha game completely compared to using a regular kitchen whisk
03 -
  • Warm your mug with hot water while preparing everything else—your latte stays hot longer
  • For iced versions, dissolve the matcha in just 1 tablespoon of hot water before pouring over ice
