Strawberry Cream Cold Latte (Print Version)

Fresh strawberries meet cold brew and cream in this refreshing chilled beverage, perfect for summer cooling.

# What You Need:

→ Strawberry Base

01 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water

→ Milk & Cream

04 - 1 cup cold whole milk
05 - 1/4 cup heavy cream

→ Coffee

06 - 1/2 cup cold brewed espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled

→ To Serve

07 - 1/2 cup ice cubes
08 - Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
09 - Fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Combine strawberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Heat gently for 2-3 minutes until strawberries soften and release juices. Let cool completely, then blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if seedless puree is preferred.
02 - In a shaker or large glass, combine the cooled strawberry puree, cold milk, and heavy cream. Stir vigorously until fully incorporated and smooth.
03 - Divide ice cubes evenly between two tall glasses. Pour the strawberry cream mixture over the ice, splitting equally between glasses.
04 - Slowly pour the cold brewed coffee over the back of a spoon onto the strawberry cream mixture to create a marbled effect.
05 - Top with whipped cream and fresh strawberry slices if desired. Serve immediately while cold.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The homemade strawberry puree tastes infinitely better than anything store bought and keeps in your fridge for a week
  • Coffee and strawberries sound strange together but trust me, the combination creates this sophisticated berry mocha flavor nobody expects
02 -
  • I once forgot to strain the seeds and spent the whole drink chewing through them, so if texture bothers you at all, take that extra thirty seconds to push the puree through a sieve
  • The coffee must be completely cold or it will curdle the cream and create these weird little floating bits that look unappetizing even if they taste fine
03 -
  • Invest in a handheld milk frother, it creates the most gorgeous foam on top in seconds and makes these drinks feel truly coffee shop worthy
  • If your strawberries are not very sweet, add a tiny pinch of salt to the puree, it amplifies the fruit flavor without making it taste salty
